Sculpture Capital of Texas Celebration

The Jewett Economic Development Corporation and the Jewett Area Chamber of Commerce hosted the Sculpture Capital of Texas Celebration on Thursday, March 27, at 2 p.m. in the Jewett Civic Center. The celebration included remarks by Leon County Judge Byron Ryder, State Representative Trent Ashby, City of Jewett Mayor Pro Tem Tammy Coulter, Jewett Area Chamber of Commerce President Chad Prior and Jewett Economic Development Corporation President Amit Patel.
Entertainment was provided by the Leon High School Band and the Leon Family and Consumer Sciences Department served refreshments. The Leon FFA presented the flags and led in the pledges.
During the Sculpture Capital of Texas Celebration a new sculpture and bronze plaque that has a permanent home in Eagle Scout Park was unveiled. The Jewett Economic Development Corporation and the City of Jewett are very proud to be home of the Leon County Art Trail and is thrilled to have been named the Sculpture Capital of Texas.

- The Leon High School Band, under the direction of Mr. Bill Boyle, provided entertainment prior to the start of the Sculpture Capital of Texas Celebration.
- Leon Family and Consumer Sciences Members prepared and served refreshments during the Celebration.
- Leon FFA Members presented the Flags and led in the Pledges to begin the Celebration.
- State Representative Trent Ashby recites the Pledge of Allegience to the American Flag.
- City of Jewett Mayor Pro Tem accepts a flag that was flown over the State Capital from Rep. Trent Ashby.
- Rep. Ashby unvieled the Sculputre Capital of Texas plaque as County Judge Byron Ryder, Mayor Pro Tem Tammy Coulter, JEDC President Amit Patel and JACC President Chad Prior looks on.
