2014 Earth Day Birthday
April 22, 2014 @ 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm
Event Navigation
Since 1970, people across the country and around the world have celebrated Earth Day on April 22. The fight for a clean environment continues in a climate of increasing urgency, as the throw-away nature of our society becomes more and more prevalent. It is our hope that the Jewett community will begin to embrace a way of life that is built around reducing, reusing and recycling. The benefits to the environment through money saved, decreased energy use, and improved natural resources will be great. Thank you for being a part of the recent Earth Day Birthday Celebration and help us as we work to become more GREEN in Jewett, Texas.
- The Leon County Master Gardeners shared their extensive knowledge of all things GREEN with the Earth Day Birthday participants.
- JACC Executive Director Kristy Vandegriff shared the benefits of planting a raised garden with participants.
- City of Jewett Public Works Director Matt Martin helped the Earth Day participants plant the Community garden.
